Pumpkin patch - Great Country Farms

Last weekend, Katie, Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Mikey and Caitlin went to Great Country farms in Bluemont, VA. It was a great place and we had a blast. They have tons of activities for little kids (aka Mikey) like mazes, slides, swings, and even a giant bouncing bubble in the ground that must have had 50 kids on it.

The view out there was amazing and we were right next to a couple beautiful mountains. Katie loved the fresh air and got to go through the little petting zoo, watch pigs race and walk through the pumpkin patch. She loved the bumpy ground in the patch and also the open fields of grass. Now that she is walking, it is a whole new experience for her. She walked up and down the pumpkin patch rows giggling and grunting.

I've been experimenting with Movie Maker and think I may get addicted, if I could only find the time. Anyway, below is a little montage of Katie's first pumpkin patch! Enjoy!

Another video of sour face

Everyone seemed to like the last squinty video...so here is another. I know I have to stop encouraging her!

What a performer!

A couple days ago, Katie ate a tart strawberry and made the funniest sour face. I started cracking up and, since she is a show off, she had to keep making the face to make me laugh. Well, now she does it at random meals to get a reaction. Of course, Grandma wanted to check it out and I was able to get it on video at tonight's dinner. Dinner was chicken, squash, peas and cheese...nothing tart at all!

I know I need to stop laughing or she will never stop, but I just can't help it!

Oh yeah, Daddy can do it too.

Cake for Katie

Katie is officially 1 and had a great birthday to prove it. She wasn't a big fan of the cake, but I guess that isn't such a bad thing. She did her best to eat it, but that sticky icing was no fun.

She got lots of great gifts...a "laugh and learn" house, clothes, new soft shoes, a cell phone, a big monkey and, how appropriate, a big toy box! She also had a great time with her cousin Ian and Mom Mom (her great grandmother)!
